Hi,
I try to use ExtractFace at some computers. All x64 pro domain systems, both win 7 and win 10 (1709). Default browser is Firefox ESR, x86. Some computers use FF ESR x64 too, x64 will become default in near future. ExtractFace worked long time, not working since a couple of weeks (3-4 months).
If I call ExtractFace (MozRepl running of course) to dump a friend list as example, it will show me a list with available elements (all, last and so on). Then clicking "dump now" will result in ... nothing. No reaction, no changing of anything within the window.
Trying to running ExtractFace as admin will work mostly, sometimes I have to change charset settings (why I can't store this?). But I'm not able to run it anytime as a admin because of account reglementations.
Thanks for suggestions.
Dirk

Hi, I just tried it and it worked as expected on my side, but I had to use a standalone installation. I noticed problems with multiple users installation and I think that's why you doesn't seem to be able to save your settings (charset). I also noticed that they are problems with MozRepl when another session is already open. I start the session A. Then I change user and start session B, without closing Firefox and MozRepl. In session B, ExtractFace was sending commands to the MozRepl of the session A, so I had to close session A and before starting session B. Then it worked. ExtractFace use two separate processes (since version 6) : - ExtractFace.exe : That's the main interface that is related to the tray menu and to some simple functions as Scroll, Expand, Settings, etc. - ExtractFace-Process.exe : When you dump something (Dump now or Process queue), ExtractFace.exe create a database file (one file for each dump, contains all dump options) and it calls ExtractFace-Process.exe. ExtractFace-Process.exe load the database and process the dump. If something doesn't work, you can check if the database has been created (it should be in the user directory of the tool, AppData\Roaming\ExtractFace for default install or the program directory for standalone). You can also check if ExtractFace-Process.exe starts in the task manager. But I think you should try running it as standalone (Zip file at sourceforge.net/projects/extractface/files/?source=navbar) before anything else. Keep me inform! Alain

Hi,
thanks for quick reply. Mostly I log in as user and don't change this. It's a domain computer, but normally used only by myself. Yes, the standalone version without installation seemes to run. Same machine that wouldn't work (last test 6.3.2 installed) did the same profile in the same FF with the same MozRepl with standalone (6.3.2 too). Fine! But a localized problem: "personen you could know" (or what else in english) is longer then 31 chars in localized version, so EF brakes at this point with an error message.

Do you have the error message ? You can enable logging in Settings to catch the error.

Of course I have. Error message is "Process crash: Sheetname Personen, die du kennen könntest must be <= 31 chars". In german the message has 32 chars. Expecting to use this in excel as sheet name, which is limited to 31 chars, it breaks. Done two screenshots: ibb.co/jBfaNRibb.co/dzW4GmSo I suggest to bring up an additional field to name the sheets manually? Or use the english version of name, if localized not working. The Message is from fb, right? So every change in fb could break this the other way. Dirk

Hi,
Sorry for the delay and thanks for reporting this bug. That's an Excel limitation. It should be fix in the next version.
In the meantime, you can change the name of the category in your browser before calling the dump function. You must use the inspector. You have to modify the category name in the "a" tag (name attribute). Then, you select Dump friends within ExtractFace and you should see the new name in the table. This name will be used as sheet name in Excel so you won't get the error.
